Redbreast 12 Year-Old Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey: "The Priest's Tipple." This whiskey is definitely for those that appreciate a fine drink! Claimed to be the only Irish distillery-bottled single pot still on the market. The bottle is packaged in a nice box, with minimal decoration, much like the bottle. The real treasure lies inside that bottle!
On the nose it is suggestive, but refined-- like a wink from a shy noblewoman. It does not demand of the drinker, it attracts. The drink enters the mouth smoothly. It has the culture of a fine sweet tobacco, some fruity tones such as raisin. At the end after the swallow is a kiss of honeysuckle.
Simply put, this is the big league! Open this up properly and there is no harshness whatsoever. There is nothing unwelcome or out of place. It is pricey, but if you are looking to invest in a gentleman's beverage, here is your introduction.
