With all of our many events hitting in November, we were asked to take one more on. This is an organization that is near and dear to my heart as the director of OK Chive. We were not able to put together a huge event due to the madness of the season, but we are doing what we can to host a social hour and toy drive that will benefit Tulsa CASA - a lesser known organization of the United Way.
This organization is responsible for the intermediary care of children that are pulled out of abusive situations. These kids lose their homes and all of their belongings in most scenarios - having nothing but the clothes on their backs. It's this time of the year that we want to host a donation drive to raise money to buy toys for these kids. Not because of some superficial reason, but quite simply to remind these kids that kindness still exists in the world today. To remind them that even in the darkest, scariest, and loneliest of times - goodness can still find them.
If you have the means to do so, donations can be made in $5 increments through the following link:

We are taking donations through Friday, November 21st by 11:59PM and will purchase as many toys as we can from wherever we can get the best deal on Saturday, November 22nd. If we are going to ask you all to take action, you better believe we are going to do everything that we can to maximize every dollar you amazing people donate.
OK Chive - we have an ambitious goal to raise 350 toys for these kids. If we exceed that goal, we will be supporting CASA chapters across the OK. We as an organization and as a group of big hearted people have shown thousands of people just how dedicated we are to improving our community. Let's push the envelope together and raise even more for these kids to show them just what love, kindness, and compassion are all about. And as always - please share this as often as you can.
