On Friday, November 21st, some Chivers and Chivettes gathered, drank, chatted, and enjoyed an overall good night with one another to raise some extra funds for the kids of CASA.  Prior to that, we held some online contributions for those who donated online with a little incentive of receiving a chance to win the Chive Everywhere Oklahoma shirt or simply because they wanted to help these kids in need.

In conjunction with Toys 'R' Us at 71st and Memorial in Tulsa, a few OK Chive admins along with Jamie Kucinski (green hoodie) and his son Julius (red hoodie) joined together to purchase as many toys and board games as they possibly could for the boys and girls of CASA.  The total was 242 toys purchased and 17 toys donated - leaving a grand total of 259 toys either purchased from funds raised or donated.

Hold your head high, OK Chivers.  In just over a week, we were able to pool together enough toys to impact over 250 kids' Christmas... kids that were pulled out of an abusive situation and left to think that the goodness of the world was lost to them. Through our efforts, we've proven that they are not exempt from feeling compassion and kindness.  It's my pleasure to say that I'm an OK Chiver, and I hope the efforts like this that we make allow you to say the same.  Cheers, and have a great holiday week.

Here are some pics from the shopping finale along with a picture of the receipt - which was over 10 feet long.
